RenderPlay is a web console created by Renderon Software that allows players to play games built with the Rendercore engine directly in their browser, without any installation. It also serves as a platform for developers and studios to create, distribute and test their Rendercore-powered games on the web.

Overview

RenderPlay bridges the gap between Rendercore game development and web-based distribution. By providing a dedicated web console environment, Renderon Software enables both end users to enjoy Rendercore games instantly and developers to validate and publish their titles through a unified platform.

Games distributed through RenderPlay use the .iso.vrg console format, a proprietary container designed for the RenderPlay console environment.

RenderPlay Devtool

RenderPlay Devtool is an advanced mode of the RenderPlay console aimed at game studios and developers, providing expanded resources and live editing capabilities directly in the browser.

The Devtool version of RenderPlay provides significantly more allocation and a full suite of development tools to allow studios to test and iterate on their games without leaving the browser environment.

Devtool Features

Standalone Game Testing

RenderPlay Devtool allows game studios to test their standalone .exe builds directly on the web. To use this feature, games must be compiled in standalone mode — Renderplay-test (RP WebGL) — which packages the game for web execution within the Devtool environment.

Console Game Testing

Studios can also load and test their RenderPlay console games in .iso.vrg format, simulating the full console experience within the browser. This allows complete end-to-end testing of console releases before distribution.
